The 2010 Alabama PALS “Don’t Drop It on Alabama” campaign will be taking place next week, from April 17-24, and Crenshaw County is doing its part to clean up.
The county will have three large garbage containers — one in the north part of the county, one in the south part, and one centrally located — for groups to drop their trash in.
“We had a lot of churches and other organizations participate last year,” said David Smyth, County Commission administrator. “We encourage people to pick a county road or area around their house and adopt it to keep it clean.”
The county commission will also be sponsoring an essay contest for local freshmen.
Trash bags for the cleanup can be picked up at the county courthouse or from Crenshaw County Solid Waste Enforcement Officer Johnny Hollis.
For more information, please call Crenshaw County Commission Chairman Ronnie Hudson at 335-6588 or Johnny Hollis at 335-6946.
