Brantley High School began play at its new baseball facility against Zion Chapel on Monday, and between games, a ceremony was held to formally name it “Wendell Mitchell Field.”

Mitchell was in attendance, and he said a few words.

“This is one of the finest fields I’ve seen in my district, and when I look back at my career as a whole, I think this will be one of the highlights,” he said.
