Greenville Tigers grabbed another win Monday against Highland Home.

The Tigers prevailed 10-5.

Coach Brad Horn said the game was a chance for him to work through his bullpen.

“I set out to give all my pitchers bit of work,” Horn said. “With region games coming up Thursday and Friday, we didn’t want to throw one guy too many innings.”

Four pitchers took the mound for the Tigers. Stewart Moody started and pitched three innings. Raymond Moody pitched 2. Josh Ray pitched one inning and was awarded the win. Jerome Cook also pitched one inning.

Horn said the game was tied at 3-3 going into the seventh.

Nathan Branum hit the home run that edged GHS ahead and got a late game rally going. The Tigers scored a total of seven runs in the seventh inning.

Branum and Josh Ray both batted 2 for 4. Hunter Harrell went 2 for 3, with 3 RBIs. Raymond Moody picked up a 2-run homer, batting 2 for 5.

After beating Wilcox twice last Friday and Saturday, GHS has a 2-0 record in their region.

“It comes down to 3 games against Monroe Thursday and Friday,” Horn said. “That will determine who wins the region.”

Friday’s game will be played at home and will start at 6:30 p.m. The Tigers will travel Saturday to Monroeville for a double-header starting at 4:30 p.m.
