FDA softball still improving despite losses

The Fort Dale Academy softball team traveled to the Macon-East tournament last weekend.
The Eagles managed to beat Crenshaw 5-1, but lost 5-0 to Macon-East and 3-0 against Glenwood.
“We played alright the first game, but we didn’t hit the ball,” Anderson said. “Their pitcher threw it slow, and it was hard for my girls to catch on and get her timing down.”
The Saturday game went much better against Crenshaw Academy. FDA won 5-1.
Anderson said everything about the second game was better.
“We hit a whole lot better and we played much better,” Anderson said.
Anderson was most proud with her team’s performance against Glenwood.
“Glenwood always looks good in practice and warm-ups,” Anderson said. “They are smooth when they are on the field.”
FDA has lost to Glenwood 13-0 and 12-0 this year. Saturday’s game, however, ended with Glenwood winning by a much smaller margin, 3-0.
“I felt really good about that,” Anderson said. “We have improved tremendously against them.”
Anderson said she would let her girls have most of the week off for spring break. The team will resume practice on Sunday and Monday, where Anderson said she plans to work on hitting slower pitches.
FDA will play Macon-East on Tuesday after spring break.
