Ivy Lee Layton

LAYTON, Mrs. Ivy Lee, 93, a resident of Highland Home died Thursday February 25, 2010.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Saturday February 27, 2010 at the Sardis Church of Christ with Ministers Charles Sipper and Alan Ammons officiating.

Interment followed in the Church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Layton is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were Thomas Ray Kiser, James Layton, Joe White, Franklin McQueen, Paige McVay and Craig Pouncey.

Honorary pallbearers were Wes Pouncey, Will Pouncey, Tommy Cobb, Donald White, Rodney Best and Mike Broderway.

Mary Virginia Owens

OWENS, Mrs. Mary Virginia, 83, a resident of Petrey, AL, died Monday, March 1, 2010.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 PM from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Rolling officiating.

Interment will follow in Petrey Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Owens is preceded in death by her husband, Bauzell Owens, and her grandson, Jared Owens.

She is survived by four children, Judy (Jimmy) Davis, Stevie (Virginia) Owens, Mike (Connie) Owens, and Marion Evans; six grandchildren, Melissa McCutchin, Paula (John) Killough, Sabrina Owens, Jason (Jane) Owens, Megan (Brian) Olson, and Rachel Evans; and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday afternoon from 1 pm until service time.
