Richard Lee Reid

REID, Mr. Richard Lee, 73, a resident of Luverne died Thursday January 28, 2010.

Memorial services were held at 2 pm Saturday January 30, 2010 at the Luverne Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Mr. Reid is preceded in death by his parents, Austell and Ula Reid; step-father, John Nail; and a brother, Austell E. Reid.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jeannette Whaley Reid; three children, Cheryl Lynn (John) Westberry and Randall Lee Reid, both of Goshen, and Melinda Gay (Tommy) Reigel of LaGrange, GA; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a sister, Grace Ann (Garrett) Queen; and a brother, Lindsey Reid.

Sam Watson

Sam Watson (1939-2010) passed away on Jan. 22, 2010 at his residence in Panama City, Fla.

He graduated from Luverne High School and Troy State University in Alabama. He then served as a Physical Education teacher and coach in Bay County Elementary Schools for many years in Panama City.

A private burial was held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at the Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Sutherland Funeral Home in Panama City.

He will be missed by his family and many friends.
