Abbey Martin had 24 points, Murphy Middleton scored 16 and the Lady Eagles avenged an earlier season loss to the Sparta Lady Warriors, winning 60-39 in the championship game of the FDA Invitational on Saturday.
Martin was one steal shy of a triple-double, grabbing 10 rebounds and nine steals for the game.
The Lady Eagles led 37-26 at halftime and never allowed Sparta to get back in the game.
“We played hard,” said Johnson. “That’s as hard as we’ve played all year and I really challenged the girls to come out and run with them. I thought we were a deeper team. Sparta’s our only loss of the year and we wanted to come out and show them we have gotten better and I think we did.”
Martin scored 16 points in the Eagles’ 43-27 win over Morgan on Friday.
Martin, Middleton and Jessica Langford were all named to the all-tournament team.
The Eagles and Lady Eagles are next in action at the Huntingdon Invitational on Dec. 26-30.
