Eagles, Lady Eagles sweep Morgan Academy, Macon-East over weekend

Fort Dale 71, Morgan 48 (Boys)

Luke Hutcheson had 17 points and Shanks Simmons had 11 as Fort Dale (5-1) beat Morgan 71-48 on Saturday in Selma.

Fort Dale 43, Morgan 19 (Girls)

Abbey Martin had 16 points to lead the Lady Eagles (5-1) and Jessie Langford had eight in the 43-19 win over Morgan. Barrett Leverette pulled down five rebounds and had five steals for FDA. Langford also had seven steals for the Lady Eagles’ defense.

Fort Dale 37, Morgan 32 (JVB)

Wesley Scott had 12 points, Chip Taylor had nine and Ryan Salter had six as the Eagles’ junior varsity boys’ team improved to 4-2 overall with a 37-32 win over Morgan Saturday.

Fort Dale 35, Morgan 20 (JVG)

Anne Matthews led the Fort Dale junior varsity girls team (3-3) over Morgan with a 16-point effort, while Hayden Robinson added six points and Taylor Merry had five points.

Fort Dale 60, Macon-East 44 (Boys)

Simmons had 12 points to lead the Eagles to a 60-44 win over Macon-East on Friday.

Fort Dale 44, Macon East 35 (Girls)

Martin scored 17 points and grabbed eight boards for the Lady Eagles in the victory. Murphy Middleton added 11.

The game was close, 27-24, at half, before FDA pulled away for the win.

Fort Dale 20, Macon East 28 (JVB)

Taylor scored 12 points in a losing cause for the JV Eagles.

Fort Dale 34, Macon-East 24 (JVG)

Matthews had 14 points and Robinson scored seven to lead the FDA JV girls team. Merry scored six points. – Staff
