Huckaba’s bank-in gives Lady Eagles win over Pike

Fort Dale 40, PLAS 39 (Girls)
Brittany Huckaba banked in a two-point basket with 0.4 seconds remaining in the game as the Fort Dale Lady Eagles beat Pike Liberal Arts School 40-39 on Tuesday in Troy. FDA’s girls team improved to 3-1 on the year with the win.
Fellow senior Abby Martin led the team with 18 points. Barrett Leverette added seven.
Fort Dale 35, PLAS 36 (Boys)
The Patriots’ Ross Hixon hit two-of-three free throws with no time left on the clock to edge the Fort Dale Eagles 36-35.
Luke Hutcheson led the Eagles (3-1) with eight points, while Stuart Matthews and Shanks Simmons each chipped in seven points apiece in the loss.
PLAS’s Justin McLaughlin had a game-high 20 points.
Fort Dale played at Macon-East on Friday night and at Morgan on Saturday. The Eagles return home to host the Fort Dale Invitational on Dec. 18-19
