CATRETT, Mrs. Remona Adams, 71, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Catrett was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Catrett; her parents, J.C. and Cassie Hall Adams; and her brother, Jacky Adams. She is survived by three children, Ricky L. Catrett of Brantley, AL, Pamela (Martin) Campbell of Tavares, FL, and Perry A. (Ashley) Catrett of Luverne; five grandchildren, Hollie Worley of Tavares, FL, Courtney Worley of Atlanta, GA, Allison Catrett of Samson, AL, Cassidy Catrett and Cameron Catrett, both of Luverne; and two sisters, Margaret (Odis) Best and Joan (Patrick) Philips, both of Montgomery.

WOLFE, Mrs. Rachel Thaggard, 80, a resident of Honoraville died Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Centenary Cemetery with Rev. Nixon Riley and Rev. Michael Stubbs officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Wolfe was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Wolfe; parents, Rufus and Myrtle Daniel Thaggard; four sisters and one brother. Survivors include one son, Curtis W. Wolfe; two sisters, Leah (Gilbert) Rogers and Pearl (Billy) Williamson; and a brother, Paul Thaggard. The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

SMITH, Mrs. Evelyn Hawkins, 72, a resident of Ft. Deposit died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009. Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Ft. Deposit Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Carlson officiating and Harrison Funeral Home of Greenville directing. Interment followed in Myrtlewood Cemetery. Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Robert (Bob) Smith of Ft. Deposit. In leiu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ft. Deposit Methodist Church.

WINBORNE, Sr., Ellis H. “Bo”, 82, a resident of Ramer, AL, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Sampey Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Robert McMicken officiating. Burial followed in Ramer Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 27, at Leak-Memory Chapel from 5-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service. Mr. Winborne was born in Pickens County, Alabama. After serving his country in the Army during World War II, he returned back to Alabama to start his education at the University of West Alabama (formerly Livingston) and went on to graduate from Auburn University with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. Mr. Winborne taught Vocational-Agriculture at Montgomery County High School in Ramer for 35 years, and he was also an FFA sponsor. His teaching impacted the lives of many students and he will be greatly missed.

Mr. Winborne was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Fay. He is survived by his son, Ellis “Bubba” Winborne, Jr. and his wife, Carla; daughter, Delaris Bowden and her husband, Tim; sister, Francis Sanderson; sister-in-law, Janis Weaver; and three granddaughters, Sandi Fiorillo and her husband Scott, Christy Romano and her husband Blake, and Robin Winborne. Pallbearers were Billy Joe Sansom, Carl Boyd, John Deese, Butch Royal, Earl Fleming and Jimmy Grant. Honorary pallbeares were all of Mr. Winborne’s former students and the faculty and staff at Montgomery County High School.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Luverne Health and Rehab for the care and compassion given to Mr. Winborne during his time there.
