It was not a pretty sight Friday night, October 9.
It was a rainy and dreary night, which was only the beginning of an equally dreary football game at Clay Jordan Stadium.
The final score of the football game was 45-0. The Squadron (1-6) got handed their sixth loss of the season and couldn’t get their offense going, totaling only 22 yards of total offense.
Freshman Quarterback John Dunn was 2 of 6 for 17 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Flying Squadron had three players to run for negative yardage.
Sophomore fullback, Dustin Nolan ran for 22 yards on 9 carries. The Squadron lost three fumbles. The Squadron also had 4 penalties for 60 yards.
The Pirates had 417 yards of total offense along with 16 penalties for 105 yards. The Pirates only had one fumble lost.
The Pirates had a fumble touchdown return against the Squadron.
Highland Home needs to improve in many areas to defeat there next opponent. Highland Home struggled early on and made a few mental mistakes.
The Squadron line didn’t hold up very well. Highland Home’s total rushing was 22 attempts for 5 total yards.
Saint Jude is a very good and physical football team – Highland Home will just go back to the drawing board and try to pull out an upset victory against a very good Goshen Eagles team.
The flyboys will travel to Goshen Friday night, October 16.
