The Highland Home Lady Squadron secured the 2A Area 5’s runner up position on Monday night, Oct. 12.

The Lady Squadron defeated the Goshen Lady Eagles 3-1 in the 2A Area 5 area tournament in Zion Chapel.

The Lady Squadron was defeated the first game 25-21 but persevered through three more games winning 25-18, 25-21, and 25-22.

The Lady Squadron is led by three seniors: Kelsi Baker, Cornika Gipson, and Jennifer Thomason. Senior Kelsi Baker ended the game with four service aces and two digs. Senior Jenn Thomason had three aces.

It was a big night for the Freshman starters. Jenna Dorman scored one service ace, two blocks, and two kills. Kasi Graham scored two aces, two blocks, and one kill. Regina Harris had five blocks and two kills. Marissa Shepherd had four aces.

The Lady Squadron were eventually defeated by the Zion Chapel Lady Rebels in three games.
