GMS Tigers top CHMS, prep for Stanhope
This Thursday, the Greenville Middle School Tigers will travel to Millbrook to take on Stanhope-Elmore in the final game of the year.
Before closing out the season, the Tigers came through with a 20-12 win over Charles Henderson last week.
The Tigers were down 12-6 at halftime due to a slow start.
“They were ready and we weren’t,” said head coach Josh McLendon. “We came out with no enthusiasm.”
Harper Vinson scored the first touchdown for the Tigers, but another player stepped up in the second half.
“Jerome Watkins scored our last two touchdowns,” McLendon said. “He really took the team on his back in the second half.”
Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Millbrook.
