Fifth Annual Back to School Blast Sunday

School bells have already rung, meaning that it’s time for the fifth annual “Back to School Blast” for all of the students in Crenshaw County.

Last year’s big event drew over 500 students and parents as they filled the seats and lined the walls all the way out the front doors of South Luverne Baptist Church, and event organizers hope to see an even bigger crowd this year.

The event was organized to gather students, teachers, athletes, coaches, administrative staffs and parents from all of the schools within the county for a time of fellowship and prayer for the upcoming school year.

South Luverne Baptist Church will again host this year’s “Back to School Blast” this Sunday, Aug. 23, beginning at 5 p.m. The guest speaker will be former Auburn football player Whit Smith. Smith is presently serving with the Auburn Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Special praise and worship music will be provided by The Riverside Worship Project from Auburn.

After the conclusion of the inside events, students and adults alike will enjoy free hamburgers and hot dogs with friends and classmates outdoors. Free T-shirts will also be provided for the students as well.

This is a growing event in Crenshaw County, one that has proven to be a very special time for county students as they prepare for the new school year ahead. Everyone is encouraged to come out and join our youth for a great time of inspiration, music and worship.
