If you want to play, you’ll have to pay a bit more.
The Georgiana City Council voted last week to amend the rates and increase the charge for use of Idlewild Park for family gatherings and other events.
“We’ve been charging $15 an hour and that is not even covering the costs of the lights. Right now we are losing money on this,” Mayor Mike Middleton told the council.
The council approved raising the rates to $250 a day with a $100 deposit.
Bob Luman, EMA agent for the county, requested information to meet NEMS (National Emergency Management System) requirements be submitted by the city by early September.
In other business, the council voted to:
– Approved Ordinance 2009-03A, amending Ordinance 2009-03, the Zoning Ordinance for Mobile Homes and Mobile Home Parks, by adding specifications on any additions to existing and grandfathered mobile homes.
– Approved Ordinance 2009-04, an update of the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance required by FEMA.
– Approved $5,400 donation to the Butler County Health Department to assist with expenses in maintaining the city’s satellite clinic.
