After a 9-2 performance last season, the McKenzie Tigers took to the field on Monday for the first time this year.
The offseason has been a quiet one for the Tigers, who only did regular summer workouts and no seven-on-seven scrimmages or camps.
“Our main focus is just to get back in the swing of things,” said head coach Miles Brown.
This year, McKenzie features five seniors, who are led by quarterback Calvin Henderson, and the junior class features standout Emmanuel Johnson.
Brown said the team didn’t make any major changes to their offensive or defensive systems during the offseason.
“We’re just staying with the flow of what we’ve been doing,” he said.
Brown also said that the team is focusing on conditioning before they put pads on on Thursday.
