After a barn-burning, shootout loss to the Enterprise Nationals in the first game of the tournament, the Greenville 7-year-old All-Stars fell to Eufaula in the second match. The Nationals claimed the first game by a score of 25-13, although head coach Ricky Weed said the game was closer than that.

“We hit with them run for run up until the last two innings, but they scored five runs and seven runs in those innings and we couldn’t score,” Weed said.

Jabez Sims, Hunter Teague and Leslie “Lil Moe” Moseley each had good nights at the plate, but Greenville also got production from Nizarius Stone, Harrison Weed, Eli Foster, Tavarius Burnett, Gavin Felts, Andrew and Austin Williams, Mack Williamson and Dylan Cobb.

As hot as Greenville’s bats were against Enterprise, they cooled off with a 19-4 loss to Eufaula in the second game.

“I’m proud of the entire team — they did real good throughout the whole tournament,” Weed said.
