Fort Dale’s Todd Burkett was selected to play in the AISA Coaches Association All-Star Baseball Game in Troy earlier this week, and Burkett made the most of the opportunity.
Burkett, who started the game at shortstop for the East team, came up to bat three times and went 2-2 with four RBIs to help the East win 13-2.
Burkett also got a chance to pitch an inning and clocked 86 miles per hour several times.
“I had a lot of fun, and it was a good experience,” Burkett said.
Before the game at Riddle-Pace Field, Burkett met with the rest of the team and the coaches, took some batting practice, and ate a pre-game meal.
Now that the All-Star game is over, he will continue play with Greenville Parks and Recreation where he plays for the Indians.
