In an undercover operation sting, members of the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office made seven arrests with the charges ranging from prostitution and promoting prostitution to possession of drug paraphernalia.
Throughout the day on May 8, sheriff’s deputies worked undercover and netted the seven arrests, with all of the individuals coming from Montgomery County to Crenshaw County, according to Sheriff’s Investigators Ronnie White and Heath Truman.
Among those arrested were Tarence Michael Haigler, 18, and Ernest Dewayne Chappell, 59, both black males from Montgomery County. The two were charged with promoting prostitution, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, second degree.
With them was Sharon M. Harrell, 26, a white female from Montgomery County, who was charged with prostitution, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Also from Montgomery were Kevin F. White, 38, a black male, and Dustie L. Augustino, 31, a white female, both of whom were charged with promoting prostitution. Augustino was also held for Elmore County.
Alisha D. Magyar, a 23-year-old white female, and Angela F. Dennis, a 40-year-old white female, were also arrested for prostitution after they were caught in the undercover sting operation together.
“Angela Dennis kept saying that what she did was so stupid and that she wasn’t doing it again,” Truman said.
“It’s a really sad thing to see happen to people, especially to young women like some of these,” White said.
