There’s a new women’s healthcare provider on the scene in the Camellia City.

Dr. Ramana Puppala is now a part of Women’s Health Consultants of Alabama.

Puppala, who is a board-certified gynecologist, is a Chicago native for whom a career in medicine was a natural choice. His grandfather, father, brother and wife, Su, all were, or are, active in the medical field.

With Greenville being without the services of a gynecologist for nearly two years, Puppala says he hopes to firmly reinstate these much-needed services in the county.

“I have always seen women as the pillars of our society. Today, most women do work outside the home as well as raise a family. Staying healthy is very important for them to be able to meet all the demands on their time and energies,” he said.

“I want to bring the highest quality, advanced medical care from the one of the finest medical meccas in the nation – Chicago – right here to Greenville, Alabama.”

Puppala says he will bring the latest gynecological services to the community’s women, including minimally invasive surgical procedures that require less time to heal, allowing patients to return to a normal routine more quickly.

“We start with a patient by looking at how we can help them through natural or holistic medicine; then move to prescription medications if that is necessary, and finally, to the least invasive surgical intervention, if surgery is required,” Puppala.

Women’s Health Consultants of Alabama is located in Suite 2 at 45 Medical Court, adjacent to Stabler Hospital. Call 382-1015 to schedule an appointment.
