LHS’s Bagents selected as Bryant-Jordan Scholar Athlete

Luverne High School senior Heather Bagents was presented at the 24th annual Bryant-Jordan Awards Banquet and Ceremony at the Sheraton Birmingham Ballroom in Birmingham, Ala., on April 13.
Heather was selected as the Class 3A-Region 2 Bryant-Jordan Scholar Athlete.
Larry D. Striplin, Jr., Chairman of the Bryant-Jordan Foundation said, “I continue to marvel at the tremendous amount of talent and energy we have in the young people of our state.”
The Bryant-Jordan winners are chosen from more than 150,000 Alabama high school student athletes.
As the Region winner, Heather was presented a college scholarship in the amount of $3,000.
Others attending the event were Heather’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bagents; her brother, Blake Bagents; Luverne School Principal Chuck Alford, Athletic Director Robert Williams; Head Girls’ Basketball Coach Carolyn Williams; Assistant Principal Gail Morgan; High School Counselor Gloria Linton, Assistant Counselor Suzette Wes, and friend Josh Matthews.
