Steve Colquitt
COLQUITT, Mr. Steve, 89, a resident of Rutledge died Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment followed in the Green Hills Cemetery, Troy, Ala., with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Colquitt was preceded in death by his wife, Novella W. Colquitt; his parents, Jim and Dorothy Colquett; a sister, Jean Turner; and two brothers, Dick Colquitt and Tom Colquitt. Survivors include his sister, Louise C. Sasser; five brothers, Raymond Colquitt, Bill (Mary) Colquitt, Robert “ Bo” (Emma Jean) Colquitt, Lomax (Clara) Colquett and Charles (Mary Ann) Colquitt; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were James “Junebug” Colquitt, Jerry Colquitt, Ricky Colquitt, Joseph Colquitt, Turner Kimbro, and Karl Eiland.
Bobby Ray Welch
WELCH, Mr. Bobby Ray, 84, a resident of Rutledge, AL, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment will follow in Ivy Creek Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by wife, Helen Holley Welch; and two brothers, James Edward Welch, Sr. and Alvin Bartley Welch, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rebecca Johnson Welch; three daughters, Ann (William) Gardner, Cheryl (Ed) Martin, and Jennifer W. Owens; two step-sons, Randy Sexton and Allen (Lisa) Sexton; four grandchildren, Holley Harrington, Heather Golden, Chase Carlisle, and Patrick Owens; and one great-grandson, Brayden Harrington. Active pallbearers will be Jeffery Welch, Bartley Welch, Ed Welch, Todd Sexton, Werner Tiedtke, and Curtis Phillips. Honorary pallbearers include Kermit Styron, Ronald Sasser, and Lamar Smith.
