Braeden Andrew Godwin

GODWIN, Master Braeden Andrew of Highland Home was born on October 27, 2007 and passed from this life on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 4, 2009 at the Sardis Church of Christ with Minister Charles Sipper officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Braeden was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Pete and Kathleen Cobb. Survivors include his mother, Brittany Cobb; his father, Joey Godwin; grandparents, Ronnie and Kathy Cobb and Ollie and Marilyn Godwin; great-grandparents, Thomas Ray and Ruth Kiser and Annie Ruth Godwin; and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

CROWE, William Trotter, 10, a resident of Ramer, Ala., died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Children’s Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Ramer United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wesley Syfrett officiating. Burial followed in Ramer Cemetery.

Trotter was a member of Ramer United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Hubert Frazier, Jr., and great-grandparents Knox and Eleanor Trotter. He is survived by his parents, Knox and Michell Brightwell Crowe, sister Madeline Jane Crowe, grandparents Bobby and Martha Brightwell and Gary and Lyda Crowe, great-grandmothers Linnie Merle Frazier and LaNell T. Crowe, aunts and uncles Michael and Paula Brightwell, Brady and Amy Crowe and Billy and Courtney Whigham, great-aunt Barbara Frazier, cousins Cole, Cason, Caleb and Chance Brightwell, Braden and Ava Crowe, and special loving babysitters Gail B. Kimmons and Bessye Pittman.

Pallbearers were Knox Crowe, Brady Crowe, Billy Whigham, Michael Brightwell, Yates Cherry and James Littlejohn. Honorary pallbearers were Trotter’s classmates at Highland Home School.

Visitation was held from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Needs Class at Highland Home School, 18434 Montgomery Highway, Highland Home, AL 36041.

Betty Christine McGuinty

McGUINTY, Ms. Betty Christine, 60, a resident of Prattville died Thursday, April 2, 2009. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Siloam Cemetery with Rev. Cliff Stevers officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Ms. McGuinty was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Betty Walker McGuinty and a brother, Wiley C. McGuinty, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Ed “PeeWee” Logan; five sisters, Carol (Burl) Kelly, Karen (Charlie) Smith, Charlotte Chandler, Mary Leddy and Cindy (Mike) Bailey; one brother, Jimmy (Norma) McGuinty; a special aunt, Jean (Wayne) Bradley; and a host of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Mike Bailey, Johnny McGuinty, Chris Wall, Wayne Bradley, Bobby Arant, Burl Murphy, Jason Elliott and Jimmy McGuinty.

Marianne G. Brown

BROWN, Mrs. Marianne G., 55, a resident of Highland Home, AL, died Thursday, April 2, 2009. Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009 in Salem Cemetery with Rev. Parker Bowen officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her father, Harold Frank Garrison and brother, Ted Garrison. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Willard Brown; four children, Jamie (Mary) Blanchard, Christopher (Victoria) Blanchard, Rosie Blanchard, and Patrick (Laura) Blanchard; 10 grandchildren; mother, Rosemary Duckworth Painter; a sister, Margaret (Ron) Christoffel; and a brother, Tom (Donna) Garrison.
