MESSICK

MESSICK, Mrs. Tula Mae, 72, a resident of Luverne, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 after an extended illness. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Union Cemetery, Honoraville, AL with Rev. Kendrick Kelley officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Messick was preceded in death by her son, Hubert Ray Rogers and her husbands, Milliard Rogers, Kendrick Skipper and Eugene Messick. She is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

DIANNE WILSON SEXTON

SEXTON, Mrs. Dianne Wilson, 62, a resident of Honoraville, died Sunday, March 15, 2009. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Spring Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Voncille Wilson and a sister, Peggy J. Wilson. Survivors include her husband, Eddie Sexton; her canine companion, Iverson; two sons, Emmett (Jennifer) Hall, IV and David Hall and his friend Kurt Niland; two step-sons, Randy Sexton and Allen (Lisa) Sexton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, J.W. Wilson. Active pallbearers were Randy Sexton, Allen Sexton, Mickey Horne, Tony Wood, Murray Gibson and Kurt Niland.

C.V. SPEARS

SPEARS, Mr. C.V., age 81, a resident of Greenville, Ala., died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. John Howard Kervin officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer East Baptist Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

Mr. C. V. owned his own auto body shop in the Mt. Zion Community for many years and was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, at the funeral home.

Survivors include: wife, Cleo Spears, Greenville, Ala.; son, Kevin Timothy (Cindy Luckie) Spears, Wetumpka, Ala.; two brothers, Lester O. Spears, Brantley, Ala., and Waverly G. Spears, Jackson, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
