Georgiana’s boys picked up their second win of the season by blasting Frisco City 24-0 in Georgiana on Tuesday.

The game only lasted three innings, and after the first inning, Georgiana had been through 22 batters and led 16-0.

“In games like this, you’ve got to keep your team focused,” said head coach Shane Smothers.

Every member of the Panther team scored at least once, and Kevin Brogden, LaJordan Crittenden, and Jerrod Lee each scored three times.

One thing Smothers said he wanted to work on in the game was his pitching staff.

The Panthers’ aim in the early part of the season has been to get his rotation some game experience.

Brogden got the win for Georgiana and moved to 2-0 on the season.

“Kevin pitched the first inning for us and only threw 18 pitches,” Smothers said. “Levi Ray pitched in the second, and LaJordan came in and pitched the third. Those are two guys that didn’t play last year.”

Smothers said looking at pitchers was a main goal for the team.

“It was great experience,” he said. “So far this season, we’ve pitched four guys, and we’ve got two more to look at.”

Georgiana now has some time off and plays host to McKenzie on March 19.
