Luverne’s Bagents receives ‘Tagged for Greatness’ Scholarship

Heather Bagents of Luverne was presented the Tagged for Greatness Scholarship at the 66th Annual Alabama Cattlemen’s Association Convention and Trade Show.
Bagents is a senior at Luverne High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Society. She currently serves as the varsity basketball captain and key club secretary. She is also a math tutor.
After graduation, she will major in nursing at Auburn University. One day, she plans to work in an orthopedic clinic. She is the daughter of Mike and Lori Gail Bagents.
Each year, the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation awards Tagged for Greatness scholarships to deserving youth from Alabama’s livestock industry. These scholarships are funded through the sale of the “Cowboy Tag” which is available at your county’s tag office and is approved for vehicles up to 10,000 pounds.
The beef industry is the second largest segment of Alabama’s farm economy representing a $2 billion industry with annual sales of cattle and calves exceeding $450 million.
The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, founded in 1944, is one of the nation’s largest state cattlemen’s association with an annual membership of 12,000.
