Georgiana council hears proposed plans for Boys & Girls Club

The Georgiana City Council members attended to several pieces of business at its February meeting on Tuesday night.
The council :
– Approved the payment of General Liability, Property and Vehicle insurance for the city’s 2009 coverage. The amount is $43, 918, $167 less than last year.
– Passed Ordinance 2009-01, which updates drug testing policy for employees.
– Approved Resolution 2009-01, an agreement with the State of Alabama to maintain signs and markings at railroad crossings at Mill Street.
– Approved Resolution 2009-02, an agreement with the State of Alabama to maintain signs and markings at railroad crossings at Rose Street.
In other business, Tina Little discussed plans being made for the National Guard’s “Salute A Soldier” weekend, slated for April 10 and 11 at Hank Williams Park.
Micha Moorer also presented a plan to bring a Boys & Girls Club to Georgiana, with a promise to return with additional information at a future meeting.
