Cassidy Catrett presented the program for the Luverne Rotary Club on Jan. 26 on her beef steer named Ribeye, which is part of her 4-H Livestock Project. Cassidy, a student at Brantley School, is a member of the Crenshaw County 4-H Livestock Club.
During her program, she said that she chose “Ribeye” for a name because she didn’t want to get too attached to the steer after being reminded by her parents Perry and Ashley Catrett that the animal would be sold for slaughter after the District and State Steer shows in Montgomery on March 4th through 8th.
Cassidy has put a lot of time and effort in her 4-H Livestock Project.
We wish her and the other Crenshaw County exhibitors the best of luck in the upcoming shows.
Also, the Crenshaw County Steer and Beef Heifer Show will be held on Saturday, February 21st, at the Tom Harbin Agricultural Center. The show will start at 1:00 pm. The public is invited to attend. Please come by and support our 4-H livestock exhibitors.
