Step into Steppin’ Out

Steppin’ Out in downtown Luverne is now under new ownership. Since former owner Martha Dickey has “moved across the street” to her new store, 61 on Main, Tammy Allen has now taken the reigns to provide custom embroidery and screen printing to customers. Melissa Gellerstedt will also be on hand to help customers with their orders.
And that’s just for starters.
“The biggest fad right now is appliquéd Vera Bradley,” Allen explained. “We can do that for you anywhere from $19 to $30.”
She has bags and purses that can be monogrammed, plus hair bows and baby items and gifts that can also be monogrammed.
All ladies’ apparel and separates, which include summer and winter items, are now 75 percent off while supplies last. Steppin’ Out even has 75 percent off its summer shoes until they are all gone.
“We hope to branch out into the Main Street collections, which include initialed clipboards, wine glasses, notepads, picture frames, and key chains,” Allen explained. “We’ll also have initialed tumblers, initialed sippy cups and baby bottles.”
The store offers a large selection of T-shirts, sweat shirts and caps as well.
“We do iron-on transfers of letters and numbers,” Allen said. “Plus, we handle sports and little girls’ cheer uniforms, which are available upon order.”
Wind jackets and wind suits are also available upon order.
“Customers can purchase clothing here to be appliquéd or embroidered, or they can bring their own, or we can order it for them,” she said.
However, Steppin’ Out does not do alterations.
Steppin’ Out offers free gift wrapping, and a tanning bed is available for customers. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays.
Steppin’ Out will hold its Grand Opening and Open House this Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information, please call 335-5885.
