Saturday morning, two junior golfers from Greenville played in a regional golf tournament.
Mary Margaret LeCoq and Michael LeCoq played in the Indian Pines golf tournament in Auburn, Ala.
The tournament was part of the Auburn Golf Tour sponsored by USKidsGolf.com
Mary Margaret played in the Girls 11 Division.
She finished in second place, and won the silver medal.
When asked about the tournament, she said, “I played pretty well considering it was my first tournament I played without a caddie.”
Michael played in the Boys 8 Division.
He finished in third place, and won a bronze medal.
When asked about the tournament, he said, “It was so cold, the greens literally were frozen.”
Both children endured cold weather and frost/ice delays early before they were able to start their round.
However, once on the course, both played very well, had lots of fun, and made some new friends.
US Kids Golf is an organization dedicated to encouraging children to get involved in the game of golf.

However, tournament yardages are of shorter lengths according to age groups.
There will be eight more tournaments in the Auburn Winter Tour.
