JIMMY ROSS PRICE
PRICE, Mr. Jimmy Ross, 50, a resident of Luverne, died suddenly Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Interment followed in the Sardis Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Alma Head Price. Survivors include his wife, Angie M. Price; one daughter, Mellisa Price of Montgomery, AL; step-daughter, Taylor Faircloth of Luverne; two grandchildren, Madisonn and Makynnzie Price; aunt, Julia Moses of Luverne; and a host of cousins and friends.
Active pallbearers were Perry Catrett, Raymond Trotter, Jack Parks, Joe Money, Dennis Seabrook, Jarrod Bolling, Eddie Burt and Robert Hardy.
ANNIE MAE WALDEN
MCCOLLOUGH
Annie Mae Walden McCollough, 72, died Friday, October 31, 2008.
Born at Cook’s Stand near Brantley, AL, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Gaston and Annie Bell Norris Walden.
Mrs. McCollough was a homemaker and member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, of fifty-five years, Gilbert McCollough; five children, Elizabeth Williams, Jerry McCollough and his wife, Eva, Gary McCollough, Debbie Traynham and Sharon (Shay) Sweet; a brother; fifteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three sisters.
The funeral service was held Saturday, November 1, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
Visitation followed the service until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
MARTHA ANN WITHERINGTON
WITHERINGTON, Mrs. Martha Ann, 65, a resident of Brantley, Ala., died Friday, October 31, 2008. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Tate and Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Bob Witherington; three children, Bobby (Bonita) Witherington, Keith (Ginny) Witherington and LaDonna Smothers; six grandchildren, Justin Witherington, Westley Witherington, Jeromy Nott, Shayna Witherington, Charlesea Witherington and Corey Compton; three sisters, Caroline (Arnold) Davis, Merle (Juke) Mount and Nell Patterson; and two brothers, Lamar (Carolyn) Folmar and Ken (Loretta) Folmar.
DIANE EILAND HOFFMAN
HOFFMAN, Mrs. Diane Eiland, 53, a resident of Highland Home, Ala., died Saturday, November 1, 2008. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the Luverne Church of Christ with Minister Dean Kelley officiating. Interment followed in the Rocky Mount Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Hoffman was preceded in death by her father, L.D. Eiland, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Francis Hoffman; four children, John (Samantha) Hoffman, Sherry (Stan) Krasinski, Carole (Ray) Nettles and Stacy (Eric) Glass; nine grandchildren, John Tyler and Madilyn Hoffman, Stanten and Shelten Krasinski, Justin and Brooke Nettles and Matthew, Daniel and Simon Glass; mother, Frances T. Eiland; and her mother-in-law, Sarah Frances Hoffman. Active pallbearers were Doug Brown, William Roper, Kenny Sankey, Allan Hoffman, Paul Best and Bob Farrior.
WALTER CYRIL PRATT, JR.
PRATT, Mr. Walter Cyril, Jr., 67, a resident of Luverne, Ala., died Monday, November 3, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008, at the Patsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Duncan officiating. Turner Funeral Home of Luverne is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn S. Pratt; seven children, Walter (Donna) Pratt, Judy (Dale) Webb, Stephanie Pratt, Mary Burmister, Anita Mills, Kellie (Joe) Finchum and William Groves; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a sister, Rosie (Bobby) Howell. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or to one’s favorite charity.

SASSER, Mr. Oscar Clarance, 78, a resident of Brantley, Ala., died Monday, November 3, 2008. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. William Leverette officiating. Interment followed in Weed Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Sasser was preceded in death by his wife, Roselind Walden Sasser and a son, Robert Oscar Sasser. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Wayne and Kathie Sasser; six grandchildren, Larry Wayne Sasser, Jr., Oscar Wayne (Shannon) Sasser, Randy Beach, Candace (Darrell) Hagler, Tommy Grantham and Jana Beck; three great-grandchildren, Tyler James Wayne Sasser, Kody Lee Sasser and Alexis Nicole Beach; one brother, Ronald (Audrey) Sasser; and a host of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were James Sasser, Randy Sasser, Randy Beach, Tommy Grantham, Johnny Manning and Tyler Sasser.
