The Greenville Tigers made the long trip to Talladega Friday night and came away with a 35-14 win.

“We felt good about how we treated this game,” said defensive coordinator Matt Coghlan. “It was our goal to come up here on a business trip, and that’s what we did.”

The Tigers took it to the Talladega Tigers and scored the first two times they touched the ball.

Greenville took a 29-0 lead in at halftime, and the Tiger defense also locked Talladega down, holding them to around 10 yards of offense in the first half.

After a quick score to open the third quarter, the Tigers used the opportunity to get some of the younger players some playing time.

“Overall, the team played really well,” said head coach Ben Blackmon.

The win was the fifth in a row for Greenville, who faces another big game next week when they travel to Demopolis.

“Now we’ve got a big one coming up, and it’s going to determine who gets homefield advantage for the playoffs,” Coghlan said.
