V. Ernestine Davidson

Davidson, V. Ernestine, 86, of Opelika and formerly of Greenville, died Sept. 29, 2007 at Wilder Healthcare in Dadeville.
She was born April 17, 1921 in Butler County to the Ernest and Annie Fuller Duncan. Mrs. Davidson was a longtime resident of Greenville and lived more recently in Opelika.
She was a very courageous lady, loved and respected by those who knew her and she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Homer Ferguson, who died in Oct. 1950. After his death, she returned to Greenville in 1951. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, James Lloyd Davidson, who died in Feb. 8 1992.
Mrs. Davidson is survived by her son, Joseph H. Ferguson of Summerville, S.C.; her three daughters, Jean F. (Bill) Blythe of Opelika, Jennifer (Grant) Scogin of Killen and Rhonda (Randy) Durbin of Greenville; thirteen grandchildren, James Kevin Ferguson of Bradenton, Fla., Joseph H. Ferguson Jr. of Loganville, Ga., John D. Ferguson of Lawrenceville, Ga., Ashley B. Thorton, Joseph Kyle Blythe, Jennifer Blythe and Allen Blythe, all of Opelika, Al Poole of Tuscumbia, David Van Horn of Birmingham and Pete Van Horn of Montgomery, Shauna Callins of Montgomery, Lacey Callins and Rhiya Daniel, both of Greenville and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Fredericks Funeral Home of Opelika is in charge of the arrangements.
