n Pleasant Hill Homecoming
Pleasant Hill West Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 4 with morning services at 11 a.m. with Brother Kenneth Johnson of Monroeville bringing the message.
Dinner-on-the-grounds will follow.
There will be a singing in the afternoon featuring Jubilee Trio and others.
The church is on Nixon Road, 12 miles west of Georgiana.

n Pierce Reunion
The annual Dannie Pierce reunion (descendants of Manning Houston Pierce, Daniel Raspberry Nichols and Dr. John Frances Lowery, all of Pigeon Creek) will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Georgiana Nutrition Center.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
n Chapman Church of God Revival

n Schools Closed Labor Day
The Butler County School System will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
n Butler Chapel Revival
The Butler Chapel A.M.E Zion Church will have its annual reunion Sept. 5-7. Services will be 7 p.m. each day. The Rev. Joshua Johnson of Tampa will be the evangelist. All churches, choirs and ushers are welcome.
n Labor Day Closing
The City of Greenville's offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of Labor Day.
Monday's scheduled garbage collection will be done on Sept. 6.

n The Organized Community Action Program invites the public to attend a community-wide meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 regarding community programs and community concerns. The Royal Priesthood Banquet is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Dunbar Community Center. Minister Matthew D. Ellison of Fort Worth, Texas, will be the guest speaker.

Awin Baptist Church will hold a revival at 7 p.m. each night on Sept. 11-14 at the church on Ala. Highway 10 W. The Rev. Wayne Mcmillian will be leaading this revival.

The Butler County Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at the central office boardroom located at 215 Administrative Drive in Greenville. The public is encouraged to attend.

n Bender Reunion
The Bender family reunion will be held Sept. 17 at Flatwood music park in Flatwood. Please let all family members and friends know about the reunion for a large attendance. Bring any pictures of family members you may have. Bring a covered dish and lawn chairs.

n Moriah Church Homecoming
Moriah Primitive Baptist Church in the Searcy Community will hold homecoming services at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Eric Cates and Mertice Porterfield will present a history of the church. Elder Scott Sexton will speak on Primitive Baptist churches and practices.
Historical information and a cemetery census will be provided. Light refreshments will be served following the meeting. The public is invited to attend.
n Pilgrim Rest Revival
The annual revival for Pilgrim Rest
Baptist Church will be held Sept. 18-23.
Sunday, Sept 18 Pastor John McMeans will be the special speaker.
Sept. 19-23 Pastor Marvin Scott will be speaking.
The revival begins at 2 p.m. Sept 18. Services are 7 p.m. each nigh afterward.

For those that may be interested, here is a chance for you to learn more about the beef cattle business.
Monroe County Extension Office will host this program conducted by regional Extension agent, Anthony Wiggins.
Beginning Oct. 10 the class will continue on Monday nights and cover topics including management, forage systems, carcass quality, marketing, reproduction, genetics, nutrition, health and handling, and BQA certification.
