BOE makes personnel decisions in advance of new school year

On Thursday night, July 21, the Butler County Board of Education met for its regular meeting with decisions in school personnel being one of its main topics.
The following personnel changes were put into place:
Dorothea Coleman was re-employed as an elementary teacher at W.O. Parmer Elementary School.
The following were hired for employment with Butler County Schools:
At Georgiana High School, Greg Ennis was hired as head football coach and athletic director, Heath Watkins as a science teacher, and Dianne Knight McCoy was hired as a child nutrition program worker.
At Greenville Middle School, Arlene Adams will be serving as counselor, Krystal Myrick as elementary teacher, John Phillips as band director, and Brittney Whitman as science teacher.
At McKenzie High School, Susan Macks was hired as a child nutrition program worker.
Amy Doss was hired as a new elementary teacher at W.O. Parmer Elementary School.
In the Central Office, Reginald Eggleston will serve as the new Special Education Services Coordinator.
In the Transportation Department, Raymond Little and Martha Mahand were hired as new bus drivers.
The following voluntary transfers were approved by the board for the 2005-06 school year:
Nancy Benson will transfer from elementary teacher at W.O. Parmer Elementary School to elementary teacher at Greenville Elementary School.
Tim Hattaway will transfer from third grade teacher at Greenville Elementary to fourth grade teacher at Greenville Elementary.
Lucy McGowin will transfer from special education services teacher at R.L. Austin Elementary School to special education services teacher at Greenville Elementary School.
Angela Kidd will transfer from computer lab instructional aide at W.O. Parmer to library instructional aide at W.O. Parmer.
June Odom will transfer from instructional aide at McKenzie High School to school secretary/bookkeeper at McKenzie High School.
Angeline Taylor will transfer from custodian at W.O. Parmer to child nutrition program worker at W.O. Parmer.
Margaret West will transfer from counselor at McKenzie High School to assistant principal at McKenzie High School.
The board accepted the following resignations Thursday evening:
Alvin Briggs as athletic director and head football coach at Greenville High School; Curtis Gray as physical education teacher at Greenville Middle School, and Scotty Kelley as math teacher at Greenville High School.
The following leave-of-absence requests were approved:
Lynn Brady, elementary teacher at W.O. Parmer Elementary School; Vanessa Matthews, elementary teacher at R.L. Austin Elementary School, and Melissa Scott, Bright Beginnings preschool teacher at McKenzie High School.
