Gospel Meeting

There will be a Gospel meeting at the County Line Church of Christ July 17- July 20. The guest speaker will be Rev. Roger Johnson, pastor of Edgewood Church of Christ in Columbus, Ga. The hours of service on Sunday, July 17 are Bible Study at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. There will be a dinner at noon. There will be singing at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 18 through Wednesday, July 20 the service will start at 7:30 pm. All are welcome.

Homecoming

Campground United Methodist Church will have their Homecoming Sunday, July 17 starting at 10:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Thomas Sowell. Revival will be Monday, July 18 through Wednesday July 20. For more information please call Lisa Fleming at 335-6534.

Brantley Town Council

The Brantley Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 18 for its monthly town meeting. The council meets in the library at town hall. All citizens of Brantley are invited to attend.

Vacation Bible School

Weed Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School Tuesday, July 19 through Saturday, July 23 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 pm nightly. This year's theme is Lifeway's "Beach Blast-Celebrating God's Faithfulness." Classes will be provided for grades three through six. A nursery will also be available. The church is located a few miles south of Brantley on County Road 43. Please join us for a week of fun-filled, Bible-based learning experiences.

Lay Witness Mission at UMC

Luverne United Methodist Church is hosting a Lay Witness Mission on the weekend of July 22-24.

Everyone is invited to come hear the testimonies of lay people who have come at their own expense to share about their experiences with the Lord.

Ken McKemie, Chairman of the Conference Lay Witness Board, from Valley, AL, will be the coordinator.

The event begins with a pot luck supper on Friday night at 6 p.m.

There are three sessions on Saturday – morning coffees in homes at 10 a.m., a luncheon at the church, and the evening session at 7 p.m.

The Mission concludes with the Sunday morning worship service at 11 a.m.

There will be special activities for youth and children.

A nursery is provided for infants through kindergarten age.

FFMA Beauty Pageant

The Annual Crenshaw County Farmers Federation Miss Agriculture Pageant is scheduled for Saturday, July 23 at 7 p.m. at Luverne High School. You must be between the ages of 17 and 24. If you are interested in entering please contact Janice Hollis at 335-6137 for more information.

Star of Hope Homecoming

The Star of Hope Missionary Baptist Church will observe its annual homecoming and revival starting on July 24. Rev. Michael Foster of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, will be the guest speaker for homecoming services on Sunday, July 24, starting at 2 p.m. Revival will start on Monday, July 25 and run until Friday, July 29, with the Rev. A.R. Williams of Rocky Head Baptist Church and Shiloh Baptist Church as guest speaker. Services will start 7 p.m. nightly. All are invited.

Public Hearing

The City of Luverne will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 25 at 4 p.m. at City Hall on an application filed by Manarcas Mexican Store, Inc. for doing business as Manarcas for a restaurant retail liquor license at 1224 South Forest

Avenue.

Boater's License Course

There will be a boater's license course on Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Furman Mitchell Center in Luverne. Students must be present both nights and complete a written test on the final night of the course to be certified. There is no charge for this course. Luverne City Council

The Luverne City Council will meet on Monday, July 25 at 5 p.m. at the Luverne City Hall. All citizens of Luverne are invited to the meeting.

Commission Meeting

The Crenshaw County Commission will hold its second meeting of the month of July at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 25. Citizens of Crenshaw County are invited to attend.

Terrific Tuesday

The Lapine Methodist Church is holding "Terrific Tuesday" through July 26.

This is a program designed for children, ages two through 12, for Bible study. Refreshments will be served. It will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Tuesday.

Gospel Singing

Karen Peck and New River, the Down East Boys, Mercy Rain and Derek and Taletha Snellgrove will be in concert Saturday, August 6 at the Cattleman Park Building located on Highway 231 South of Troy.
