Sentencing for Westley Devone Harris, convicted of the capital murder of six people in June, has been postponed until Aug. 1, according to the Crenshaw County Circuit Clerk's office.
A preliminary sentencing hearing for Harris was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday, but Circuit Judge Edward McFerrin ordered a continuance.
Jurors in the trial voted 7-5 to give Harris life in prison, but McFerrin is not bound to follow their decision.
