Benefit Auction & Singing

There will be a benefit auction and gospel singing at 6 p.m. today, July 9, 2005, at the McKenzie School Auditorium with New Vision providing the music.

There will be many items up for auction, door prizes and concessions.

The Higher Heights Ministry Learning Center is now accepting enrollment.

of God Revival

Evangelist Jerry Trotter will be preaching at the Greenville Church of God beginning on Sunday, July 10, and continuing through Friday, July 15. Sunday services will be at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Weekday services will begin at 7 p.m. Bro. Trotter's anointed and compassionate preaching and his special one-on-one ministry will bless all that hear him.

Everyone is invited.

History

Spring Hill United Methodist Church class will include history of the church and a tour of the Church cemeteries.

Class will meet at Spring Hill Methodist Church, Gibson Road, 6 miles northeast of Greenville 2:30-4: 30 p.m. Sunday, July 10. The class is being taught by Dr. Michael J. Daniel. Cost of the class is $15 per person.

Baptist VBS

Union Baptist Church at Honoraville will hold VBS July 10 – 15, 2005 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The theme will be "Ramblin' Road Trip," and classes will be held for nursery through youth. Antioch East Puppets will begin the session on Sunday night at 5 p.m. with classes beginning afterwards. Everyone is welcomed to attend. Revival

Buckaloo Pentecostal Holiness Church will begin revival services at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 10 through Friday, July 15 with weeknight services starting at 7 p.m.

Special music will be provided each night.

Brother Tony McCullough will be the guest speaker for the services.

Homecoming

Homecoming will be held on July 10, 2005, at Giddens Chapel Church with the Rev. Cletice Ingram, from Canton, bringing the morning message at 11 a.m. Everyone bring a well-filled basket of lunch to be served following the morning service. All present, former members

and their families are asked to come to get to know each other all over again.

A special offering will be taken for the upkeep on the cemetery as well as the regular offering.

Saucer Family Reunion

The Saucer Family Reunion will be held July 10th from 10 a.m.

to 2 p.m.

It will be at the Boys & Girls Club Community Center at Beeland Park. All friends and relatives are invited. Please come and bring a covered dish.

Homecoming

St. Paul United Methodist Church will hold a homecoming service at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 10. Pastor Leroy Shaw will be delivering the message. A covered dish lunch will follow the service. Revival services will be Monday night through Wednesday beginning at 7:30 p.m. each day.

July 11-

Greenville City Council

The Greenville City Council will hold its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11 in Council Chambers at City Hall.

Butler County Commission

The Butler County Commission will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2005, in the Commission Chambers in the Courthouse Annex.

Please note that this meeting is being held earlier than normal due to a conflict in scheduling for the Commission.

The meetings will return to the regular time in August.

United Fund Allocation Meeting

The Butler County United Fund (BCUF) will hold an allocation meeting on Tuesday, July 12 at 5:30 p.m.

at Greenville City Hall.

You must come prepared to explain how your organization has used funds in the previous years, and second, you must bring a list of six pre-contacted volunteers' names and addresses who will help with campaign.

Ronnie Paulk will be the new Butler County United Fund chair for 2005-2006, while Susan Murphy will serve as the drive chairman.

GHS Class of 1985

The Greenville High School Class of 1985 will meet at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the Chamber of Commerce offices.

REMAC Quarterly Meeting

The REMAC Quarterly Membership Meeting is scheduled for July 16, 2005, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Ritz Theatre in Greenville.

Due to the recent events occurring at Pioneer Electric, this is an extremely important meeting for our membership.

All REMAC members are urged to be present for this meeting.

All Pioneer Electric members who are interested in the future of our rural electric cooperative are invited.

Gospel Meeting

County Line Church of Christ will hold a Gospel Meeting July 17-20 with Minister Roger Johnson as the speaker.

Schedule of events for the week include Sunday morning Bible study at 10 a.m.; worship at 11 a.m.; dinner at noon; singing at 2:30 p.m.; evening worship at 7:30 p.m., and worship Monday through Wednesday begins nightly at 7:30 p.m.

All are welcome.

Homecoming

Welcome Baptist church of Georgiana will be observing their annual homecoming services on this date. A special singing will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the morning worship service at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served immediately the worship service. Pastor Terry Heartsill invites everyone to come and worship with Welcome.

The Butler County Board of Education will be offering Substitute Teacher Training at the Butler County Education & Community Learning Center on Wednesday, July 20, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Weed Whacking Weekend

On Saturday, August 6, 2005, Greenville Middle School will have a "Weed-whacking Weekend" event from 6:30 a.m. until.

All parents and volunteers are invited to bring weed-eaters, hedge clippers or lawn mowers to help clean and landscape the school grounds.

Refreshments will be served.

Students in the Butler County School System return to classes on Monday, Aug. 8, 2005.

Please be aware that a mandatory dress code is in effect for the upcoming school year.

McKenzie PeeWee Assn.

The McKenzie PeeWee Association will be holding football and cheerleader sign-up each Tuesday in July from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the peewee football hut.

Children must be 6 by Aug. 1 and no older than 12 on Aug. 1.

This association is part of the newly formed South Central League which consists of Red Level, Florala and Pleasant Home.

Greenville High School Child Care is accepting applications for the 3-to-4-year-old daycare program for 2005-2006 school year.

Basic Computer Class

A series of basic computer classes will be offered at LBWCC beginning in July.

The class will meet on Tuesdays on July 12, 19, 26 and Aug. 2, 9, and 16 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The cost for this course including materials is $75.

Michael Combs concert

An Evening with Michael Combs, best known for the song "I'm Drinking From My Saucer," to benefit the Fire Fighters Assn., will be held at the Greenville High Auditorium on Saturday, October 1.

Prayer Breakfast

A men's interdenominational prayer breakfast is held each Wednesday at Just Julie's at 7 a.m.
