Mary Ruth Williams

Mary Ruth Williams, 92, a former resident of Georgiana and Evergreen, peacefully passed away Sunday, May 22, at the Homestead Nursing Home in Sherman, Texas.
Services were held on Thursday, May 26 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana.
Internment followed at Brownsville Cemetery in Evergreen.
The family received friends on Wednesday, May 25 at Johnson Funeral Home.
Ms. Williams was born on April 1, 1913, in Pine Orchard to Edward and Jeanie (Salter) Tatum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Williams of Evergreen; brother, John Tatum of Frisco City; sister, Eddy Belle Powell of Evergreen; son, Willard Williams of Prattville; and grandson, Timothy Williams also of Prattville.
Surviving are her brothers, Elijah Tatum of Frisco City, Carl Tatum of Monroeville, Grady Tatum of Megargel; sisters, Dorothy Pierce of Columbus, Mississippi, and Betty Reid of Monroeville; sister-in-law, Lela Tatum of Frisco City; sons, Charles Williams of Cypress, California, Bud Williams of Irvington, and Doug Williams of Houston, Texas; daughters, Mary Louise Bazan of Sherman, Texas, Joyce Blackburn of Alexandria, Virginia, Faye Ward of Pensacola, Florida, and Barbara Ann Acreman of Irvington; and daughter-in-law Peggy Williams of Prattville; in addition to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was greatly loved and will be missed deeply.
