The south Butler County Rivalry will be renewed tonight when the Georgiana Panthers take the court against the McKenzie Tigers. The game will be played in Georgiana, but the Panthers won't be in their home white uniforms. They will play on their own floor in their road blue. The same things goes for the Tigers, they will be "hosting" Georgiana, so they will be the home team for the night. Tipoff for this game is set for 4:30.
The two teams have already met once this season. The first time these two teams met, the Panthers were coming off a defeat by the Greenville Tigers.
This time, both teams are entering the game with defeats notched. Georgiana fell Monday night to Brantley, 58-40, despite standing toe-to-toe with the visiting Bulldogs.
The McKenzie Tigers also enter the game coming off a loss, they were upset by Goshen in Georgiana at the end of January.
Flipping the coin the last time the two squads female counterparts took the floor, the Lady Panthers were the victors.
This time both squads are entering the game with wins.
Georgiana posted a big-time victory over Brantley while the Lady Tigers notched a victory over the Goshen Lady Eagles, their second in the team's two meetings.
Tipoff for tonight's game is set for 4:30 with all three teams playing.
