The Town of McKenzie Christmas Parade is canceled. For more information, call the town hall at 374-2311.

The City of Hayneville will have it's Christmas Parade Dec. 4, 2004. The parade will feature bands, floats, horses and Santa Claus. Prizes will be given out for the most

outstanding float, float with the best Biblical theme and float with the best Christmas spirit.

The Hendersons from Milton, Fla., will be at Grace Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. The church is located 4 miles south of Hwy. 55 in McKenzie.

Dec. 7

The Butler County Retired Educators Association will meet Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. at the YMCA. Please bring one gift to exchange, a type of refreshment and a gift for an elementary school student.

Dec. 9

The fourth annual Roger Voreis Christmas luncheon will be held Thursday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Georgiana Community House. It is free to the public.

Dec. 12

A prayer rally for the president, military, families and everyone throughout the nation on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Union Baptist Church at Honoraville will present a Children’s Christmas Cantata entitled &uot;Sing A Song of Christmas&uot;

Dec. 17

The LBWCC Foundation has limited scholarships available for "non-traditional" students wishing to attend LBWCC Spring Semester 2005.

The term "non-traditional" applies to students at least 21 years of age or older and/or have been out of high school for one or more years.

Applications must be received by Dec. 17 in the Office of Financial Aid.

Applications are available in the Financial Aid office on the Andalusia Campus.

Dec. 20

Winter holidays will be observed on the Butler County School System from Dec. 20 through Dec. 31. All School system operations will be closed during the period. Students will attend school for a full day on Friday, Dec. 17 and return on Monday, Jan. 3.

Jan. 20

The next regular meeting of the Butler County Board of Education will be held on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Central Office Boardroom on Administrative Drive. The public is invited.
