The Mighty Mites' bid for a perfect season was ended by Red Level, 8-6.

In every sport, the drive to finish the season perfect never changes, no matter what age group you are.

The Greenville Mighty Mites had played seven games, never trailing their opponent.

That changed Saturday.

The Tigers of Greenville were face-to-face with their counterparts from Red Level.

The Red Level Tigers were also undefeated.

After Saturday's game, they stayed that way.

Red Level's squad of Mighty Mites posted an 8-6 win to give them a share of the league championship and also a bye in the first round of the playoffs scheduled for this weekend.

The Greenville squad finished the season at 5-1 tieing with Red Level for the best record in the league. That tie secured them the Co-Champion title. They will enter the bracket at the No. 2 position and will face Fort Deposit in the first round.

The other match-ups in the first round are No. 3 Evergreen Aggies vs. No.6 McKenzie and No.4 Evergreen Jaguars vs. No.5 Georgiana.

The little ones weren't the only ones competing for a playoff spot Saturday night. Both the Termites and Pee-Wees were playing for position.

The Termites, who were undefeated through week six posted a 34-6 victory Saturday, securing them the No. 2 spot in their playoffs as well.

Brian Smith, Demontrez Dean, Kenterian Riley, Fernandez Grey and Jonathon Robinson all had trips to the end zone in the Tigers win.

For the Termites, who finished the season 5-1, their bracket shapes up with No. 2 Greenville taking on No. 7 McKenzie. No. 3 Evergreen Aggies will meet No. 6 Red Level and in the last game of the day for the Termites, No. 4 Fort Deposit will face the No. 5 Evergreen Jaguars.

In the Pee-Wee age group, Greenville will enter as a No. 7 seed, due to them being winless the last four games of the season. Saturday was no different as they were defeated 6-0.

They will play in the second game of the Pee-Wee bracket against No.3 McKenzie. The rest of the bracket shapes up with No. 2 Evergreen Jaguars taking on No. 7 Fort Deposit. No. 4 Georgiana will take on No. 5 Red Level and the bye into the second round will go to the Evergreen Aggies.

The first round of the playoffs will be this Saturday in Georgiana with the first games slated to start at 9 a.m. They will conclude the following Saturday when the field is cut to four then to two the finally one champion will be named.

Next Saturday will be the second round and the SuperBowl.
