Ok, on Saturday, Main Street Greenville unveils its new annual event, the Grits Festival.

This is a whole day of family fun, music and food and we would encourage you to join us in front of City Hall in Confederate Park.

Main Street's many volunteers have worked many hours in planning and preparation for this event.

Now, they need you to come out and participate.

You can't say the weather if wrong, it's supposed to be beautiful.

You can't say it's too expensive, there is no admission.

So there are no excuses for not being there.

Also, this gives vendors and downtown businesses an opportunity to showcase something special about our city.

The heart of the city is downtown and to keep it strong, we must support these locally owned businesses.

So come on out Saturday and enjoy some grits.

For all those who have worked so hard thus far, we say thank you.

We know that all your work will pay off once the dust or grits settle on Saturday evening.
