According to Greg Fuller Athletic Director for Greenville Parks and Recreation Dept, the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick challenge scheduled for Oct. 9 has been cancelled.

The event that was set for this upcoming weekend has been rescheduled due to the threat of incliment weather in the Greenville Area.

The event has not yet had a rescheduled date, but according to Fuller, an announcement should be made at the first of the week as to the new date.

The Punt, Pass and Kick sectionals will be held in Dothan on Oct. 23.

According to the Punt, Pass and Kick website, www.nflyouth.com, the winners of that competition will compete against 32 other winners during halftime of an NFL playoff game in January.

"It's become a tradition,"said Jerome Harris, Parks and Recreation Director for the city of Greenville.

"If you watch college football on Saturdays, they tell how some of the great players came through Punt, Pass and Kick, the kids look forward to it every year."

According to the website, the purpose of the NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick program is to create a lively and engaging forum for boys and girls to compete separately against their peers in punting, passing and placekicking skills.

Punt, Pass and Kick has four different age groups and has no registration fee.
