Keep saving those soda ring tops

I am pleased to announce that the ring tops everyone has been saving is not a hoax.

I called the American Cancer

Society and an employee named Kim gave me the answer. She said the Ronald McDonald House accepts these tops.

The New Jerusalem Revival Center located on Emmett Ave (the

Old Glenwood Hwy) will have a clothes swap from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Bring your unwanted clothing. Bring a blessing and receive a blessing.

There will be a music festival at Lake Jackson in Opp Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Everyone is welcome.

The Dozier Freewill Baptist church had its yard sale last Saturday and it went great. The weather was good all day.

The church would like to thank everyone who donated to this event. They would also like to thank everyone who bought the camp stew and baked goods.

Randy Mitchell (White Eagle) played his flute. Tribal Judge David Johnson sang beautiful gospel music and Chief James Wright from the tribe spoke to the visitors offering help with heritage or the preserving of grounds.

Calvary Baptist Church will hold its singing at 7 p.m. Saturday. Supper will be served at 6 p.m. and the singing will follow.

Hearts Desire from Ino Baptist church will be the guest group.

The MaChis Lower Creek tribe will host a festival beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Nut Hut on Hwy 231 north in the Pine Level community about 10 miles outside of

Montgomery. Everyone is welcome.

Dozier Freewill Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday with Sunday school and church services and lunch and singing afterwards.

There will be no Sunday night service.

The Word of Faith Church held its homecoming September 26.

Bro. Hackathorn said there were 95 in attendance. They are still in the process of remodeling and he is proud of the new improvements. For the short time Bro. Hackathorn has been there he has really made a difference.

Lomax Morgan, his son Charles and their cat went to stay at his daughter's house in Montgomery during Hurricane Ivan. They went up on Wednesday before the storm and came home on Friday.

They said they had no damage to their house in Brantley or their lake house in Ganett.
