Mighty Mites, Termites unbeaten, rip Evergreen

The Evergeen Jaguars and the Greenville Tigers met Saturday with the Tigers coming out on top in the Mighty Mite and Termite age groups. The Jaguars picked up a win in the Pee-Wee division. The event was the first held at the new YMCA complex.

Trailing 6-0 late in the game, the Mighty Mites took over on offense. Delino Lee found a hole and scampered to the end zone.

"We faced this team last year for the Super Bowl. In that game it was 0-0 until the last minute of the game," said coach Elliott Lewis

The Tigers went for the two-point conversion The Tigers picked up their third win of the season and are still unbeaten.

The Termites also stayed in the ranks of the unbeaten with a 22-0 victory over the Jaguars.

Brandon Smith and Bryan Smith all recorded touchdowns. Demontrez Dean closed the door on any chance of a Jaguar comeback by picking up a safety to bring the game to it's final tally or 22-0.

"The kids played a pretty good game," said Michael Cook, coach of the Termites.

"Defense held them to no score, and offense did good on blocking. The kids just played good ball."

They moved to 3-0 on the season.

The Pee-Wees found themselves on the other side of the coin Saturday.

The Evergreen Jaguars raced off to a 30-6 win, moving the eldest Tigers to 1-2 on the season.
