On Monday, Susan S. Murphy and Otto Duke

attended their last meeting as city councilmembers.

Next Monday, Tommy Ryan and Jean Thompson will take their place.

To Ms. Murphy and Mr. Duke, we say a heartfelt thank you for the work you've done for the city of Greenville and all that you've helped accomplish.

You both should be proud of the work you performed and never hang your head.

Knowing you both, we can't help but feel that we haven't heard the last from them.

To Mr. Ryan and Dr. Thompson, we ask that you give your 110 percent effort for the next four years.

This is an awesome responsibility that you are about to undertake and we know that you are up to the task.

We encourage you to be free thinkers and leaders and make your own decisions.

Changes are always bittersweet. Indeed, we are losing two good people off the council and we believe we are adding two who will be just as good.

We pray that their tenure in office will be just as prosperous as the last four years.
