Shoppers at Greenville’s only locally owned grocery store, Super Foods, were recently welcomed into an updated store.
Super Foods of Greenville continues to serve the Camellia City, as it has done since 1974.
Phillip Graham, store manager, said recently that the store’s interior renovations were nearly complete and officially &uot;reopened&uot; the store.
It should be noted that despite renovations that began in May, the store never had to close for operations.
&uot;This is the culmination of months of planning and then the actual remodeling,&uot; he said Sunday afternoon. &uot;Our customers can expect the same great service, but we have new equipment to better serve them.&uot;
Graham said before the renovations began in May that the renovation was the dream of the late John E. Wilson, known to most as &uot;Mr. Jimmy,&uot; who owned the Super Foods chain in south Alabama.
The store now features modern appliances for frozen foods and modular shelving.
Cash registers are new and everything has been painted, polished and shined.
&uot;The store has a very modern look,&uot; he said.
&uot;We have a modern look, but our customers will find we still offer the same great customer service.&uot;
It should be noted that during the renovation, many items were rearranged throughout the store.
Graham said for those who need assistance in finding their favorite items, they simply need to ask an associate.
&uot;We also have a map of the store that shows where everything is located now,&uot; he said.
Super Foods is located at 175 Greenville Bypass next door to Fred’s.
They are open Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
