Wow, this week has been really busy. The Dozier Baptist Church held their VBS and had a wonderful week. Thanks go out to all who helped make it a success.
The First Family Fun Day was held Saturday downtown. I think it turned out really great. It got cut short due to the rain. But that could have been the Indian dance. I forgot to ask if that was a rain dance that they were doing. While there, I bought a wonderful cookbook at one of the booths. I have spent a good bit of time reading recipes that several of my family members put in it. Imagine my surprise when I opened this cookbook and discovered that it was from Brantley and included recipes from Opal Peek, Ms. Kate Peek ,Ms. Juanita Walden and so many more that I know and love. I told Opal to bring some extras down to the cafe and we would try to sell some for them.
The Dozier Methodist Church is having their VBS this week. So far, it’s going great.
We want to wish James Emmett and Barbara Mitchell congratulations on the birth of their newest grandchildren. Tasha has had a girl and a boy. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. If these two are anything like the rest of the Mitchell children, they will be beautiful kids.
Please continue to keep Ms. Mary Johnson in your prayers. We look forward to her coming home real soon.
July 4th is coming this weekend. I ask that you please be careful. Not only will there be a lot of people on the road, but there will be so many people playing with fireworks. We cannot stress enough how dangerous they are. You cannot replace an eye if it is burned or a hand if something blows up too soon. Please make me and other moms happy and be really, really careful. Now I’m through preaching, have a great holiday and know we love you.
