Georgiana City Clerk Barbara Clem is recovering well after a small scare Saturday.
Clem, who was having chest pains, was forced to leave the Hank Williams Festival early on Saturday.
After resting at home the pains did not subside and her husband took Clem to the Georgiana Hospital.
Dr. John Hollis was concerned the problem may be more serious than had been thought and sent Clem to Montgomery.
After receiving a stint on Thursday Clem was recovering nicely.
She’s doing well right now,&uot; said City of Georgiana employee Ann Browder. &uot;Everything seems to be okay.&uot;
Browder said Clem had been expected to undergo the procedure on Monday.
However, the length of the procedure forced it to be delayed until Thursday.
Following the surgery Clem was able to return to her room where she was recovering well.
Clem is expected to have a full recovery and be back among the people of Georgiana very soon.
That is very good news to the people of the city she has served so well.
